Slovenia and Croatia (overnight stop in Nuremberg, Germany) – day 3

Hallo! This morning we woke up quite early to go to a cafe. We translated the menu and realised it was Turkish so had hummus for breakfast!!

I downloaded duolingo to learn some German. Sadly, since we are leaving tomorrow, I was quite disappointed I didn’t get to speak it. So I moved onto Japan for in a years time!! After the cafe, we walked around Nuremberg for a bit.

Then we met up with Issac, our friend from England! It was such heavy rain mum thought he might blow away! When he arrived we got some really delicious food, I thought something really really spicy was cream cheese and I ate it before dad could notify me that it was the most spicy food known to mankind. So that wasn’t very pleasant.. anyways, after the meal we went to another bar and saw the old castle walls.

We walked for a bit until me, mum, Dad and Issac had to separate so Issac could go back to his apartment. Dad was a little bit tipsy and he splashed me with water from the fountain, while walking my bracelet broke so now I’m very sad. Especially the most special one there, the one from Grace. Since a stupid car was behind me I couldn’t pick up the beads. When the car passed the beads are black so the camouflaged into the black cobblestone. Mum and Dad didn’t have food at the second bar with Isaac, but I did (fish fingers and chips) so we ordered Indian food for dinner. And a man called mum either drunk or fat. Because when she asked about what the food origin was he said “You have drank too much.” So that was weeeiiiirrrd.. (it was Bosnian food I think he said). Then mum and Dad ate their Indian and we all went to bed.

I’m Alice. I started writing about my holidays when I was 6. I’m 11 now. I love art, photography and travelling. So far, I have been to many parts of Italy (by plane and car) many Greek Islands, Morocco and Thailand. Last summer, we drove to Slovenia and Croatia and camped. Next year I hope to visit Japan and go skiing.

  1. Alice – do try to stay with Duolingo. I found it really good. I did it for a whole year in lockdown to improve my Greek. You could do that before you go to Japan. You only need to do a minimum of 10mins every day, but it makes you not want to miss a day. XXXX
