Ithaca – day 1

First thing we did was wait a very long time for dad to get the hire car, after landing in Kefalonia, that we were going to drive to the ferry, but apparently the ferry was late so we had a bite to eat.

Our ferry from Kefalonia

After we got to Ithaca we met Kath and Cliff in the car park since they were waiting for us, then we got back in the car to drive to the apartment, called Lazaretto Palace, and I was quite happy with having my own personal bathroom.

A hour later, I think it was the afternoon by now, we finished unpacking. So then we went to go meet up with Kath, Cliff, Clive, Angela, Jiff and Julie. Since I brought my art things, I decided I would create a picture of Angela! Half a hour later, we left the bar Kayaks, we went to a restaurant called Niko’s. We had a lovely meal which I really enjoyed, and everybody was very friendly towards me. I had a baby pork kebab with chips and it was nice. But I didn’t really like it and I was full from all the bread, tzatziki and all the other starters we ordered.

Angela also received a gorgeous picture of herself made by the well known 9 year old artist.

After we finished our meal we walked home, past all of the huge boats. Then we went to the apartment and fell asleep. Thank you Kath and Cliff for the food they bought for us for our apartment. I have tried the yogurt and honey and it’s delicious. Signing off now!

I’m Alice. I started writing about my holidays when I was 6. I’m 11 now. I love art, photography and travelling. So far, I have been to many parts of Italy (by plane and car) many Greek Islands, Morocco and Thailand. Last summer, we drove to Slovenia and Croatia and camped. Next year I hope to visit Japan and go skiing.
